Knowing The Biology Of This 88-Acre Lagoon Helped Design The Right Aeration System

This case study looks at a partnership with Lake Tech and BioBase to increase dissolved oxygen concentration in the Bel Marin Keys.

The objective of this project was to increase dissolved oxygen concentrations in several stagnant coves of an 88-surface acre coastal lagoon community. The coves, which ranged in depth from 22 ft to 40 ft, had existing CleanFlow and Airmax diffused aeration systems which were defunct due to lack of maintenance but also obsolete due to their age. LakeTech set out to make bathymetric maps and collected the water quality data needed to design a new, highly efficient, diffused aeration system.
