DAF Systems Hard To Beat
By Andrew Miley, Ovivo
A common myth is that clarification is less expensive than DAF. It is true that the mechanics of clarification are not quite as involved, but when taking into account space requirements, operating costs and performance, DAF systems generally emerge as superior.
Typical applications for DAF are in food and chemical processing facilities, packaging, pulp and paper processing and any facility that requires the reduction of oils, fibres, proteins, inks, dyes, and other solids. It is also used in potable water treatment, where it is usually combined with an integrated filtration stage, the combination referred to as FAFF.
