Building Public Trust The Focal Point Of 2015 NAWC Water Summit

Recognized thought leaders on trust and loyalty to keynote annual meeting of private water industry in Scottsdale, Arizona

Private water company executives, public utility officials, regulators and other industry leaders from across the country will gather inScottsdale, Arizona, October 4-6 for the National Association of Water Companies’ (NAWC) 2015 Water Summit. The theme for this year’s meeting – Private Enterprise. Public Trust. – places timely emphasis on the private water sector’s collaborative role in safeguarding public health, protecting the environment and ensuring quality of life and economic growth for future generations.

“The National Association of Water Companies is eager to bring leaders from the public and private sectors of the water industry together for our annual Water Summit to collaborate on strategies to overcome the country’s water challenges,” said Michael Deane, NAWC executive director. “This year is especially important as we focus on the importance of building trust and cultivating loyalty in the communities we serve, which is a primary concern to both private and public utilities.”

Each year the NAWC Water Summit provides a dynamic forum for leaders in the water industry, public officials and other key stakeholders to exchange ideas and share solutions that ensure safe and reliable water infrastructure for communities and businesses across the country.

The three-day meeting includes a full agenda that includes sessions focusing on primary and emerging issues impacting the nation’s water. For example, during a session on Tuesday morning, the Honorable Caitlin Durkovich, Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, will address water-related risks in national security. On Tuesday afternoon, a session focusing on sustainability will include a panel of environmental experts who will discuss innovative methods to address water supply and quality issues. Remarkable accomplishments of private water industry representatives will also be recognized as part of the NAWC Management Innovation Awards and Living Water Awards presentation.

This year’s meeting will also be highlighted by keynote addresses from two of the nation’s top experts on trust and loyalty, Dr. Andrew C. Wicks and James Kane.

Wicks, the Ruffin Professor of Business Administration at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, will deliver the keynote address on Monday, October 5. Kane, a leading researcher and acclaimed thought leader on what makes people sincerely loyal to other people, organizations, or causes, will deliver the keynote address on Tuesday, October 6.
