Activated Carbon for Home Water Filters
The provision of drinking water to residential, commercial and industrial properties represents a significant improvement in the standard of potable water over what is available naturally in the environment. However, the use of industrial chemicals, disinfectants and concern over periodic issues (taste and odour events and chryptosporidia outbreaks) have lead to a significant increase in the use of filtration at use devices. Point of use devices, such as jug filters or faucet-mounted treatment systems give single household provision on one scale. Point of entry units provide pure water for specific areas, or whole buildings. Invariably, activated carbon is used and the high performance grades of AquaSorb® products from Jacobi Carbons is used to dechlorinate, control chloramines and produce water that is better tasting, more pure and more palatable than that available from normal municipal supply.
