  • Why ASME PTC10 Is Not Sufficient To Define Testing Of A High Speed Turbo Blower
    1/22/2016

The technology to produce low pressure air, an energy intensive ingredient in the wastewater process, has made significant steps forward in recent years. Unfortunately, the specifications for testing these new sophisticated air producers have not kept pace.

  • Leveraging Rentals For Pneumatic Conveying Applications
    5/18/2020

Pneumatic conveying applications are critical to many facilities – when you can’t move material you can’t make or sell your product. Because of a historical lack of availability of specialized rental blowers and compressors for pneumatic conveying, plants often ether accepted the production outage or rented a more readily available 2 stage oil-free rotary screw compressor designed for 90-150 PSIG plant air service that is very inefficient at the reduced pressures needed for pneumatic conveying.

  • Freeport Wastewater Treatment Plant Saves Money And Energy With Hybrid Blowers
    9/30/2013

Best known as the home of outdoor retailer L.L. Bean, the community of Freeport is a popular summer destination on the shore of Casco Bay in southern coastal Maine. In 2010, the Freeport Sewer District brought in engineering firm Woodard & Curran (also of Freeport), to conduct an energy analysis of the Freeport Wastewater Treatment Facility. The assessment revealed that the Freeport plant consumed more than 8.9 kBtu per gallon of wastewater treated, more than double the national average of 4.1 kBtu per gallon. While an outdated oil heating system contributed to the overall inefficiency, the plant’s 30-year-old multistage centrifugal aeration blowers accounted for as much as 80 percent of the electricity consumption. • Wastewater Treatment Plant Reduces Energy Consumption, Noise With Turbo Blower Technology
    6/24/2013

Built in 1974, the Blue River Wastewater Treatment Plant in Silverthorne, Colorado, provides wastewater services to the communities of Silverthorne, Dillon, Dillon Valley, Buffalo Mountain, and Mesa Cortina. Faced with rising energy costs and aging equipment, the Silverthorne-Dillon Joint Sewer Authority (JSA) identified a need to replace the plant’s original multistage centrifugal blowers with new technology that would reduce energy consumption and provide steady and reliable operation.

The Hoffman Revolution is the world’s most advanced blower energy management system. The culmination of blower design and leadership delivers a new standard in efficiency and environmental protection. The first high speed centrifugal in its class—designed, built, and tested in the United States of America. Through advanced technologies, the Revolution delivers up to 45% energy savings, provides increased reliability with little or no maintenance, and comes factory prewired and tested in an ergonomically designed sound enclosure for plug-and-play operation.

Gardner Denver’s factory-built IQ® PD blower package is a fully integrated package with many energy efficient options, such as Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and high efficiency motors, which typically operate 3 to 5% more efficiently than standard motors.

Aeration is the heart of most industrial and municipal wastewater treatment and we have a new, cutting-edge solution.

System controls are critical to a wastewater blower system. Without them, a system with multiple blowers operating on their individual controls will run more than necessary and result in wasted energy. Maintenance costs increase and worst of all: process performance suffers.

The groundbreaking Delta Hybrid Rotary Lobe Compressor is the result of a synergy between the rotary lobe blower and the screw compressor technologies and offers completely new possibilities by combining the technical advantages of both concepts.
