PipeTech DataSentry

PipeTech DataSentry allows multiple users to access the same data simultaneously and handles the sharing and security issues that arise with multi-user networks. The application also performs data archiving and maintenance tasks such as data mirroring and storage.

Using PipeTech DataSentry, information can be stored in one of three ways:

• On-line
  Power RAID and Video-On-Demand (VOD) servers allow multiple users to access the same data at the same time. On-line storage poses security and data integrity issues that are handled by PipeTech DataSentry.

• Near-line
  CD/DVD jukeboxes and changers make all media within a pipeline system instantly available. However, only one person can access a specific disc at one time, limiting the ability to share data between multiple users.

• Off-line
  Data is accessed from a CD/DVD loaded in the local drive of a computer. Off-line data access is a standard feature of PipeTech products.
