Due to microbiological activity in the process, or to a lesser extent due to the reduction in nitrate levels in the raw water, nitrogen compounds may give rise to increased nitrite concentrations. This can occur, for example, as a result of defunct systems for the removal of iron and residual iron, or in the normal production cycle at the start of the week in the water that has accumulated in the filter. The challenge is to detect as quickly as possible the presence of nitrate concentrations close to or above the limit value, in order to prevent larger loads from being rejected.

Typical measuring points for online analyzers are found directly after iron removal and residual iron removal. Using the Stamolys CA71NO, nitrite levels can be measured continuously. High-frequency analysis (maximum every 6 minutes), automatic calibration and cleaning and fast response times mean that fast reaction times and therefore a high degree of operational safety are guaranteed.
