Godwin Pumps, worldwide manufacturer and supplier of the Dri-Prime automatic self-priming pump, is debuting the newest addition to the CD series, the CD500M Dri-Prime pump in its booth (#4802) at the 82nd Annual Water Environment Federation's Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando (FL) October 12th to 14th.
Capable of flow rates to 13,500 GPM (3,066 m3/h) and heads to 200 feet (61 m), the CD500M is an automatic priming centrifugal pump suitable for a wide variety of applications requiring high volume and high head. The CD500M is a direct drive cast iron pump with a cast chromium steel impeller designed for general pumping of solids up to 4 inches (104 mm) in diameter. The venturi priming system on the CD500M provides continuous, uninterrupted operation even in intermittent dry suction conditions. In addition, its dry running, double high-pressure oil bath mechanical seal with abrasion resistant solid silicon carbide faces enables the pump to run indefinitely without risk of overheating or failure.
The CD500M is offered with several engine options, including the standard 460 hp Caterpillar C-15 diesel engine for normal pumping conditions, or the 600 hp Caterpillar C-18 diesel engine for applications requiring more head. For applications requiring lower emissions or noise levels, the CD500M is also available with an electric motor configuration.
A standard Godwin PrimeGuard™ Controller provides programmable operations including setting maintenance timers and automatic starting and stopping. A safety shutdown system incorporated into engine controls prevents equipment damage from engine fault or failure, while the integral 10.6 gal (40 l) fuel tank capacity provides hours of continuous operation.
