Disc Mixer

The Discmixer has an open-ended design and uses Discpac technology to create a non-impingement, pulsation-free

The Discmixer has an open-ended design and uses Discpac technology to create a non-impingement, pulsation-free fluid movement - there are no blades, no paddles, and no vanes. The Discpac is a series of parallel discs that rotate perpendicular to the mixing shaft. As it rotates, fluid is gently pulled by a boundary layer-viscous drag from the bottom of the mixing tank and moves out radially from the discs. Concentric eddies are created in the tank, spreading out from the Discpac until the entire fluid mass is in motion.

Using the patented Discpac practically eliminates contact between the mixer and the material being mixed. There is little if any damage to the product, even delicate, shear-sensitive solids. Because Discmixer handles product without any impingement device, it can easily handle large and stringy solids, as well as fluctuations in size and volume.
