Louis Lebrun of Pinnacle Ozone Solutions discusses company’s flexible solution to the variety of water-quality challenges facing smaller municipalities.

Water Online Radio: There has been a lot of buzz around Pinnacle the last couple of years. What’s basis of that?

Louis: It’s a pretty exciting time. We have one of the first modular-based ozone technologies. So rather than the conventional large scale treatment system, we call it the server and rack approach.

We have a basic platform and then we populate the platform with a number of small generators to create a large generator. It gives us a level of flexibility that you may or may not see in other products. It also allows us to really tailor a solution to a customer’s needs.

Water Online Radio: With these advantages to the modular design approach, what types of customers and applications benefit most from your systems?

Louis: Excellent question. We’ve touched on it already. Small- to medium-sized municipalities are the ones with the biggest challenges in adapting a solution to their problem. They see the largest net variation in their water quality. They are the most strapped regarding cash and technical resources.

Having a modular approach allows them to put in a platform and then if they need to expand later, they can. If they see issues in how to modulate the technology, we are very scalable. We can go from zero to 100% scalability. It’s a very adaptable technology to whatever particular solutions they have.

We also have a very robust control system that is transparent to the operator. Once they program the parameters in, the system does all the calculations and mathematics for them and delivers what they need – rather than them fooling around with the dials to make it work.
