New Fast Setting SewerGard And Underlayment Enable Limited Downtime

Pittsburgh, PA — Sauereisen has two new additions to its wastewater product line. Underlayment No. F-120FS and SewerGard No. 210FS are fast-setting versions of the original trowelable formulations and together they enable the Underlayment/SewerGard system to remain viable in quick turnaround projects or cold environments.

"Fast-setting materials allow contractors and municipalities to save money," said C. Karl Sauereisen, vice president. "It's more economical to briefly plug lateral lines than to bypass a manhole. To the extent that restoration materials are applied and cure rapidly, a contractor will spend less time on a job site and the municipality will pay less for labor while also eliminating the cost of a bypass."

SewerGard No. 210FS is a corrosion-resistant lining for manhole benches, inverts and other structures. The fast-setting nature of No. 210FS is conducive to applications where the need for limited downtime exists, a key consideration for restoration projects where sewage bypass would otherwise be necessary.

These same projects may require the fast-setting Underlayment No. F-120FS to address deteriorated substrates. No. F-120FS is essentially a trowelable formulation, although there will be instances where the material will fill voids greater than one-half inch thick. If needed, the same formula may be casted with appropriate reinforcement. The use of Underlayment No. F- 120FS isn't restricted to wastewater environments as it also has industrial applications.
