Brochure: BIOSTYR®
The process is carried out in a series of individual cells containing submerged buoyant media called BIOSTYRENE. The incoming wastewater and air, which is injected at the base of the cell, flow concurrently through the BIOSTYR cell. The BIOSTYRENE media provide a high specific surface area where microorganisms attach and act as a filter media for suspended solids removal. The media is retained in the cells by a precast concrete nozzle deck integral to the structure.
