Case Study: Texas Brine Company - Baytown, TX
The Texas Brine Company LLC, located in Houston, Texas, is a leading producer of evaporated salt in the United States.
Texas Brine's Baytown, Texas facility produces high-purity salt that is used primarily in chlor-alkali production, as well as other salt products sold into water softening, chemical and food grade markets.
Project Background
Texas Brine Company faced a unique challenge. A new chlor-alkali chemical plant
presented Texas Brine with an opportunity to supply high-purity sodium chloride
into their process. In order to furnish the salt to this prospective customer, Texas
Brine would need to construct a new production facility in close proximity of their
client and the local source of solution-mined salt. The critical aspect of this
potential project was the production requirement (750,000 tons per year) at high
system availability and the exacting salt purity necessary for their client.
