Did you know that "more than 96% of healthbased Safe Drinking Water Act violations occur at small utilities with fewer than 10,000 customers?" This fact was recently stated by American Water Works Association Deputy Executive Director Tom Curtis. He continues with the fact that "these utilities often struggle with the expense of upgrading facilities to meet new regulations."
Frequently, these new regulations require the monitoring of additional parameters. However, some of the Safe Drinking Water Act violations may be based on insufficient knowledge of existing equipment performance. Ever-changing regulations make it important for every facility, no matter how large or small, to monitor process data and continuously improve performance of existing equipment.
