Case Study: Schneider Electric Provides Fast Service To Replace Damaged Equipment At West Virginia American Water
West Virginia American Water is part of the American Water Company that provides water service to over 13 states in the eastern United States. They have three main processing plants in West Virginia.
The Bluestone plant in southern West Virginia is the location for this project. At this plant they pump water from the Bluestone lake up to the processing plant located on top of a nearby maintain.
Application
The customer uses a series of variable frequency drives (VFDs) to move
water from the lake to the processing plant, enabling them to maintain a
consistent flow of raw untreated water into the plant. The VFDs are also
used to maintain consistency through the plant and out to their distribution
system, which is critical to maintaining water quality.
