A couple of years ago the Melton Wastewater Treatment Plant suffered a near disaster when an over voltage fault whilst test running the backup generator destroyed nearly all the electrical equipment and appliances at the plant. At that time the plant manager decided to replace the existing dissolved oxygen monitoring system with the Royce Technologies Electro Chemical Self Cleaning Dissolved Oxygen Monitoring System. Having experienced great success with these at the previous plant he worked at where they have been in operation for over 6 years, a system was installed in each of the four aeration basins.
