Disinfection
May 13, 2008
UV disinfection is a purely physical process. Micro-organisms such as bacteria, viruses, yeasts, etc. that are exposed to UV radiation are inactivated within seconds. The core elements of ITT's UV systems are very high-performance UV lamps developed in-house.
Over 50,000 UV liquid treatment systems have been supplied by ITT over the past decade and are in operation in installations around the world. Our UV disinfection systems reduce the dependence on chemical processes, improve safety and speed up treatment times and minimize operating and maintenance costs. Applications for UV disinfection include:
- Municipal Waste Water
- Municipal Drinking Water
