California American Water Releases Annual Consumer Confidence Reports

Pacific Grove, CA /PRNewswire/ -- California American Water recently published its 2009 Consumer Confidence Report, which describes the quality of drinking water in the company's Monterey-area service territory. The reports are being mailed this month to local customers on the Monterey Peninsula, along the Highway 68 corridor and in the communities of Chualar and Ralph Lane.

The annual report measures the quality of water supplied by California American Water against compliance standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The report describes drinking water sources, testing conducted on the water, substances detected and the levels of those substances. Commonly asked questions and answers concerning drinking water are also included.

California American Water's Consumer Confidence Report, which is updated and distributed annually, is being delivered in May to customers in the company's central division, which includes Carmel-by-the-Sea, Carmel Highlands, Carmel Valley, Pebble Beach, Pacific Grove, Monterey, Del Rey Oaks, Seaside, Sand City, Bishop, Hidden Hills, Ryan Ranch, Ambler Park, Toro, Ralph Lane and Chualar. Most reports will arrive as an insert in customers' water bills. Anyone who does not directly receive a water bill can request a report from the company's customer service center at 1-888-237-1333. The report will also be available online at www.californiaamwater.com.
