Biofouling Control In Cooling Towers With A Halogen Stabilizer
10/22/2020
Biofouling in cooling towers is undesirable because it can reduce heat transfer efficiency, restrict water flow, and accelerate corrosion rates. Of even greater concern is the fact that pathogen growth in cooling towers can lead to disease transmission. Given the favorable growth environment of a cooling tower, these microorganisms can reproduce, proliferate and form complex biofilm communities. Legionella bacteria, which cause Legionnaires’ disease, are one of the greatest concerns from a public health standpoint because infections are often lethal and cooling towers are the most frequently reported non-potable water source of Legionnaires’ disease outbreaks (Llewellyn 2017).

Emerging Pollutants: The Role Of Activated Carbons
12/18/2013
The presence of active pharmaceutical ingredients, radio-opaque substances and endocrine disrupting chemicals in raw water sources is a relatively new emerging issue in relation to drinking water quality. However, the influence of pollutants on health and general well-being is becoming apparent with the incidence of carcinoma increasing and fertility rates being affected. A solution for the efficient removal of these substances from water use by production sites is required.

PFOA/PFOS Treatment Systems
6/9/2021
PFOA/PFOS in Drinking Water
PFOA (perfluorooctanic acid) and PFOS (perflurooctane sulfonate) are organic synthetic chemicals that have been used in manufacturing a multitude of industrial and consumer-based products including coatings, carpeting, and fire-fighting foams. Over several decades, they have contaminated the environment, specifically our drinking water sources, causing significant health concerns that recently prompted the EPA to take action.

1600 Series For Fats, Oils, Greases, Phosphorus, Chlorines and Other Chemicals
6/26/2014
Designed with the dairy market in mind, the Dampier membrane is optimized to withstand long-term exposure to fats, oils, greases, phosphorus, chlorines and other readily present chemicals. Its silicone elastomers possess inherently low intermolecular forces, providing excellent resistance to hot and cold temperatures. Our Dampier membranes are hydrophobic, and do not react with the unique chemicals present in dairy wastewater. Heat stable (up to 365°F) and flexible at low temperatures, these custom formulated membranes provide durable, chemically-correct solutions for dairy wastewater treatment.
