WSSC Launches National Search For Newly Created Inspector General Position
WSSC has launched a nationwide search for the newly created Inspector General position, which was recently established by Maryland General Assembly House Bill 419, Chapter 130 during the 2018 session. The Inspector General, which will operate independently from WSSC management and report directly to the WSSC Board of Commissioners, is responsible for conducting, supervising and coordinating audits, investigations and reviews of the utility’s operations.
“The Inspector General will play a key role in ensuring WSSC continues to operate in an open and transparent manner,” said WSSC Commission Chair T. Eloise Foster. “The successful candidate will also help us achieve our vision to become a world-class water utility by providing recommendations to preserve WSSC’s reputation; improve the efficiency of our programs, policies, practices and operations; and ensure public accountability.”
The search will focus on potential candidates with extensive knowledge, experience and the capability to manage an independent office for one of the nation’s largest water and water resource recovery utilities. WSSC is a bi-county agency proudly serving 1.8 million customers in the Maryland Counties of Montgomery and Prince George’s, which border the nation’s capital. Since 1918, WSSC has been entrusted with the vital mission of producing and delivering safe, clean and reliable water, and returning clean water to the environment, all in an ethical, sustainable and financially responsible manner.
Interested candidates should contact Gregg Moser of the executive search firm of Krauthamer & Associates, via email at gmoser@kapartners.com. The full position description can be found here.
