WaterTAP Conference To Spur Water Technology Innovation Adoption

Water Environment Federation President is Keynote Speaker 

WaterTAP Ontario will host Water Innovation in Action on February 27, 2013 at the Atlantis Pavilion at Toronto’s Ontario Place. This new water industry conference and workshop features speakers, panel discussions and breakout sessions all aimed at exploring what it takes to move from innovation to action and how to integrate new water technologies and sustainable water management solutions into existing water and wastewater treatment facilities and water networks.

“Ontario is a thriving water technology hub, drawing interest worldwide,” said WaterTAP Vice President Mike Stadnyckyj. “Our aim is to spread the word and ensure Ontario companies, utilities and governments know what promising new technologies exist, what benefits they offer and how best to address challenges to piloting and adoption. Enabling adoption is an important part of fostering the next generation of Ontario companies and to remaining a magnet for the world’s water tech researchers, entrepreneurs, companies and investors.”

Cordell W. Samuels, Water Environment Federation (WEF) President, Board of Trustees and Plant Superintendent for the Duffin Creek WPCP, will deliver the keynote address. Other speakers include water executives from companies such as Anaergia, Endetec, Global Water, IBM, RV Anderson and TrojanTechnologies as well as senior representatives from municipalities and the provincial government.

Water Innovation in Action event is the first conference WaterTAP is hosting. Themes include how utilities have successfully implemented innovations to reduce costs and extend asset life, industry examples showing strong return on investment and how the Ontario’s Ministry of the Environment’s Showcasing Water Innovation program supports innovation and a progressive water strategy for the province.
