The Illinois Section of American Water Works Association (ISAWWA) and Illinois Water Environment Association will host its annual conference and expo from March 19 through March 22, 2012, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Conference Center in Springfield. This year’s conference, WATERCON 2012, will feature opportunities for water and wastewater professionals to exhibit, attend training sessions, and compete in technical competitions. In addition, a designated day has been scheduled for young professionals.
“As our industry continues to grow, it is important that we engage and empower future leaders,” said Laurie Dougherty, ISAWWA’s Executive Director. “By offering a specific day during Illinois’ largest water and wastewater conference, we can showcase the value our organization has for young professionals.”
WATERCON 2012’s young professional’s day will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Kicking off at 8:00 AM, the day will offer information on leadership and specific presentations geared toward young water and wastewater professionals. It will also include young professional and student paper presentations that highlight current research in the water and wastewater industry.
