Water Tech Companies Around The World Invited To Submit Proposals To Nevada

Grants range from $25,000 to $100,000

WaterStart and the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) are now accepting proposals from tech companies around the world with timely, collaborative and unique applications on how Nevada can advance water technology development. As part of Round 10 of a competitive matching grant process, individual grants range from $25,000 to $100,000.

Applications are being sought from water technology companies that help to address variety of areas related to efficiencies or quality improvements in driving water delivery, commercial building water infrastructure management and others.

Funds awarded may be used to support activities related to:

  • Testing and evaluation of new technologies
  • Demonstration projects
  • Technical support with research and development
  • Big data computing
  • Legal and regulatory assistance
  • Talent development
  • Marketing and networking
  • Pursuit of third-party funding opportunities

The deadline to submit proposals is Sunday, April 15, 2018 at noon.

Since 2015, WaterStart has evaluated 214 proposals and implemented 17 pilot projects, with funding of over $1.5M dollars shared with its partners.

The State of Nevada continues to promote its commitment to innovation in water technology through WaterStart and GOED, providing funding on a competitive basis that support economic development, foster job creation and attract private investment in Nevada.

Through this commercialization fund, WaterStart delivers accelerated growth pathways for pre-revenue leading technology firms, as well as a gateway for post-revenue organizations to expand their access to customers with the goal of bringing concepts to the market. Grants made through the program are designed to leverage existing regional assets and support the implementation of water technology solutions for communities.

For Israeli Companies: WaterStart, in partnership with the Israeli Innovation Authority (IIA), has also opened Round 9 of request for proposals. The IIA is asking for proposals by April 7th, 2018.
