Value Of Water Campaign Announces Fifth Annual Imagine A Day Without Water

National Day of Education and Awareness Will be October 23, More than 1,000 Groups Expected to Join the Effort

The Value of Water Campaign announced recently that the fifth annual Imagine a Day Without Water, a day to raise awareness and educate America about the value of water, will be October 23rd, 2019. Pervious Imagine a Day Without Water efforts included more than 1,000 participating organizations, with local governments, water utilities, small businesses, and community institutions connecting with their communities and constituencies about the importance of investing in America's water systems.

On Imagine a Day Without Water, the Value of Water Campaign asks everyone to consider what their day would be like if they couldn't turn on the tap and get clean drinking water, or if you flushed the toilet and wastewater didn't go anywhere. What would that day be like?

"Most Americans have enjoyed clean, safe, reliable water service for very low costs for generations. But the infrastructure and service it takes to bring water to our homes and businesses and take it away is not free and can't be taken for granted," says US Water Alliance CEO and Value of Water Campaign Executive Director Radhika Fox. "We all need to educate ourselves about where our water comes from and the investment these critical systems need."

Polling shows that there is major bipartisan support from the American Public. The Value of Water Campaign's annual survey on the state of our nations' water infrastructure reveals that 85 percent of Americans support increasing federal investment to rebuild our water infrastructure.

Participants for this year's Imagine a Day Without Water have signed up to give proclamations, share videos, pen op-eds, host art contests and more. Participating organizations can be found on the Imagine a Day Without Water site and day-of highlights can be followed on Twitter at #ValueWater and @TheValueofWater.

More information and registration for Imagine a Day Without Water can be found on the official site, imagineadaywithoutwater.org.

Imagine a Day Without Water began in 2015 as a project of The Value of Water Campaign. In 2018, more than 1,000 organizations signed up to participate in the annual day of advocacy and education.

The Value of Water Campaign educates and inspires the nation about how water is essential, invaluable, and in need of investment. Spearheaded by top leaders in the water industry, the Value of Water Campaign is building public and political will for investment in America's water infrastructure.
