Under Joint Venture CH2M HILL And VolkerStevin Awarded AMP6 Contract

United Utilities has appointed C2V+, a CH2M HILL and VolkerStevin joint venture, as one of four Construction Delivery Partners (CDP) for Asset Management Programme 6 (AMP6).

The AMP6 contract is a design and construct framework for the next capital investment period, from 2015 to 2020, and covers the full spectrum of works for both water and wastewater across the North West England geographic area for which United Utilities is responsible. The contract could be further extended to 2026.

The framework comprises multidisciplinary activities including design, project management, construction, testing, commissioning and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment works, pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs and mechanical and electrical installations.

Steven Fraser, United Utilities Managing Director, commented: "Today's announcement is the result of a lengthy, robust and rigorous selection process and we're confident that these are the right partners to help deliver real improvements for our customers and the environment during AMP6 and beyond."

Both CH2M HILL and VolkerStevin have a long, successful track record of working with United Utilities. The two companies also work together in other sectors including flood defence, environmental, and marine for clients such as the Environment Agency.

Commenting on the contract announcement, Greg McIntyre, CH2M HILL’s Global Water Market President, said: "This is a great opportunity for CH2M HILL and builds on an already strong relationship the firm has with United Utilities. As Construction Delivery Partner for the AMP6 period, C2V+ will be working in partnership to help deliver top-quality water and wastewater infrastructure solutions and to support United Utilities with its vision of becoming the North West England's leading service provider."
