Targeted Call For Novel Monitoring, Predictive Tools, And Control Technologies For Cyanotoxins In Water Supplies

The Water Research Foundation (WRF) is seeking innovative and reliable technologies to monitor, predict, and improve the early detection of the onset of harmful algal blooms (HABs) and support the effective control of cyanotoxin events in recreational waters and drinking water supplies.

Providers of innovative tools and methodologies that can improve chemical and biological water quality parameters, remote sensing, performance, cost, and operations (e.g., maintenance, compliance, sustainability, etc.) over conventional approaches are encouraged to apply to the Leaders Innovation Forum for Technology (LIFT) Technology Scan. Proposers must highlight key aspects of their technology or process for review by a panel of experts through LIFT.

All accepted proposers will have an opportunity to present their technology to utilities, consultants, and other WRF subscribers, as well as be included in the LIFT Link online technology innovation and collaboration platform. Subsequent opportunities may develop around research, piloting, validation, and early adoption of the technology. Selected proposers may also be invited to join LIFT representatives at upcoming industry events and workshops on this topic. See application instructions for a complete list of benefits.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • In reservoir or recreational water control strategies.
  • Chemical and biological monitoring.
  • Phycology.
  • Limnology.
  • Remote sensing and satellite data imaging.
  • Sensors.
  • Algal metabolite control.
  • Other innovative technologies.
  • Technologies in other areas will be accepted, and are encouraged.

Submissions are due no later than 5:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 11, 2019. There is no cost to submit a proposal. To apply, please visit LIFT Link and click the Apply button at the top of the web page.
