Sensus Wins Consecutive Awards For Rural Smart Technology Innovation

Utility executives honor the Sensus AMI solution for the second straight year

For the second year in a row, rural cooperative utility leaders honored the Sensus Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solution from Sensus, a Xylem brand, as the “Best Smart Utility Solution” during the Rural Smart Grid Summit (RSGS).

Powered by the FlexNet communication network, the Sensus AMI solution helps utilities and co-ops build a smarter infrastructure that can support multiple applications. The solution consists of advanced metering for water, electricity, gas and lighting applications, all connected by the FlexNet system.

The network securely transmits and receives data to help utilities and co-ops make better decisions now and in the future. What often begins as smart metering can develop into a more robust grid modernization effort that supports wide-ranging system measurement and control.

The 2017 RSGS, held at the Saddlebrook Resort & Spa in Tampa, Florida, brought together 40 participating vendors competing in three award categories. Awards were voted on by more than 100 utility executives representing utilities and co-ops across North America.
