Registration Now Open For 2009 Valve And Pump Market Outlook Workshop

The Hydraulic Institute (HI) announced that registration is now open for the 2009 Market Outlook Workshop. Organized by the Valve Manufacturers Association, the Workshop is focused on key valve and pump industry markets. Registration details can be found at www.Pumps.org.

Hydraulic Institute will also be hosting a meeting the entire day before the Workshop begins for the HI Market Intelligence Committee (formerly the Statistics Committee), for pump industry analysts associated with HI member companies, as well as a dinner the evening of August 12.

This year's workshop will be held at the Renaissance Blackstone Hotel in Chicago, Illinois on August 13-14, 2009. The workshop will feature some of the best industry and economic experts discussing trends in a broad spectrum of marketplaces and economies. Trends in the following major markets will be addressed:

  • Water/wastewater
  • Pulp and paper
  • Power
  • Nuclear
  • Oil and gas
  • Petrochemical
  • Mining
  • Hydrocarbon processing
  • Construction

Economic and market presentations will be provided by the following experts: Michael Schneider, Senior Research Analyst and Managing Director of Robert W. Baird and Company will be discussing the Wall Street perspective. Alan Beaulieu, Economist from the Institute for Trend Research will cover the domestic economic outlook. Farid Abolfathi, Managing Director of Global Insight, Inc. will talk about the international economic outlook and Bob Tellier, Divisional Vice President of Global Sourcing, True Value Company will specifically discuss China.
