Registration And Housing Opens For WEFTEC 2019 In Chicago

Register by July 12 to receive “best rate"

Registration and housing is now open for WEFTEC 2019, the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) 92nd annual technical exhibition and conference.

Scheduled for September 21 to 25 at McCormick Place in Chicago, WEFTEC is the best place for WEF members and water professionals from around the world to learn, connect, and explore new, regenerative ways to shape the future of water.

ReGeneration Workforce
ReGeneration Workforce builds on a theme that was introduced at last year’s conference. It harnesses the power of individuals who are reinventing and reinvigorating the water workforce while providing solutions for workforce development, diversity, and inclusion in the water sector.

The 2019 conference program is scheduled to include 148 technical sessions, 27 workshops, 16 mobile sessions, and seven local facility tours. The award-winning exhibition will feature more than 1,000 exhibitors who will show off the latest developments, research, solutions, and cutting-edge technologies. A wide range of topic tracks allows attendees to design their own unique learning experience with the opportunity to earn continuing education credits.

In 2019, attendees also will find more opportunities to interact directly with global water experts through plenary sessions, product demonstrations, the popular Innovation Showcase, and more than a dozen specially designed pavilions.

This year’s Opening General Session will feature a keynote presentation from Dr. Lera Boroditsky, an associate professor of cognitive science at the University of California San Diego and editor-in-chief of Frontiers in Cultural Psychology. Dr. Boroditsky will bring a unique perspective to the conference theme by sharing her research into how differences in language can shape the way we think, perceive, and respond to each other. By learning to recognize and overcome potential biases, communication nuances, and preconceptions, water professionals can improve how they work together, mentor each other, and recruit new talent into the water sector.

Other conference highlights will include the popular Mix with Members reception, the annual WEF Students and Young Professional Committee Community Service Project, Interactive Knowledge Exchange sessions featuring video-based education, the Student Design Competition, the 32nd annual Operations Challenge competition, and more.
