New Castle, DE Replaces Open Channel UV With A Safer, More Efficient Neptune Benson ETS- Ultra Violet Disinfection System

The County of New Castle, Delaware has awarded the contract to upgrade the UV disinfection system at their wastewater facility to ETS-UV by Neptune Benson. The upgrade will convert the existing chlorine based system to a state of the art closed vessel UV system.

Commenting on the award, Regis Yurcich, Director of Facilities and Maintenance for New Castle County stated “we were impressed with the advances that have been made in UV technology since we installed our first UV system,  (open channel UV), at one of our other facilities. The ETS closed vessel systems are fully enclosed, use automatic wipers to keep the sleeves clean, use fewer lamps and are both safer and simpler to use “

The state of the art machines minimize operator maintenance and have UV cameras to measure the performance of the units in real time.
