Elevated SO2 levels, as high as 1200 ppm, were causing severe degradation to exposed concrete in the closed head spaces throughout this 150 MGD plant. The plant elected to protect its invested dollars with a durable composite coating after pre-existing liners had delaminated, causing systems blockages and the chemical attack of underlying exposed concrete.
