The Hydro-Guard® HG-3 LongNeck™ Standard Flushing System was developed for use in moderate to severe cold weather climates, and can be operated all year in all weather conditions. All of the unit’s mechanical components are located below frost depth, yet are easily assessed using the patented Hydro-Guard® Cam-Lock™ Release System. In addition, the battery and programming interface are accessible from the top of the device.
Designed for use with a multi-event portable handheld programmer, the HG-3 LongNeck Unit can be programmed to flush a water line multiple times per day, seven days per week, with flush durations ranging from one minute to four hours per program. The removable handheld programmer can be used to set multiple Hydro-Guard flushing devices. It also provides increased security as the on-site controller cannot be altered without using the handheld programmer.
With protection of the environment in mind, the Hydro-Guard HG-3 Standard unit has been designed to discharge water atmospherically onto the system’s splash plate through ports located low to the ground to help minimize the possibility for erosion damage while maintaining a 12-inch minimum air gap located inside of the protective housing. The discharge ports are protected by a stainless steel shield which prevents entry into the device by animals and serves as a diffuser for the discharged water.
Since many communities require discharged water to be dechlorinated, the HG-3 Standard unit is equipped with an OEM-installed 12-tablet dechlorination system that is designed specifically for the device and built to meet local, state and federal standards for the dechlorination of the discharged water. An on-site sampling system is also a standard feature.
