Hach Continues To Expand The Parameters Available For Testing With The SL1000 Portable Parallel Analyzer (PPA) Platform, Which Dramatically Streamlines Water Testing

Hach is excited to announce the much-anticipated expansion of our Chemkey® chemistries available for the Hach SL1000 Portable Parallel Analyzer™ instrument (PPA), for drinking water applications. These new Chemkeys were created based on customer feedback, and designed to help customers dramatically streamline their water testing needs. Additional parameters include:

  • Hardness (high range) – Avoid titrations by using the Hardness Chemkey. Now you can measure up to 750 mg/L to test hard water.
  • Ammonia (free and total combined) – You can now test both Free and Total Ammonia in a single Chemkey and free up a port for an additional Chemkey.
  • Chlorine (high range) — Test High-Range Chlorine without diluting or using multiple powder pillows. Measure up to 10mg/L in the event that your chlorine rises above 4.6mg/L.
  • ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) probe – The ORP probe is now compatible with the SL1000.
  • Hach now offers an increase in functionality to measure salinity.

“These new Chemkeys were developed in response to customer feedback. We will continue to develop Chemkeys and probes to help customers streamline their water testing needs,” said Ursula Jessee, Global Product Manager.

Test more parameters per reading
With this new expansion, which includes an Ammonia Chemkey that tests both free and total combined Ammonia, users can test up to seven total parameters simultaneously. These commonly-tested parameters will help users keep track of the quality of their drinking water and the health of their distribution system more easily than ever before.

About The SL1000
The SL1000 platform offers faster testing of multiple parameters, greatly reduced variability from test-to-test and operator-to-operator, and significantly less hassle than traditional methods of testing. This simple hand-held instrument performs the same tests with less than half the manual steps compared with traditional methods, while producing highly accurate and reliable results. It can test up to five colorimetric and two probe-based parameters simultaneously. By eliminating the need to run multiple tests back-to-back, the user saves time and money.

With fewer manual steps, operators will have more time to focus on other important aspects of their job. SL1000 is simple to use, offering operators of all skill levels the flexibility to test for the parameters that are relevant to their process. Due to the patented Chemkey design, results are consistent and repeatable, enabling operators to be confident in their results.

Hach’s SL1000 Portable Parallel Analyzer (PPA) platform dramatically streamlines water quality testing by offering faster testing, less variability and less hassle. For more information on Hach’s new SL1000 platform, visit www.hach.com/ppa.
