H2O Innovation Secures Four New Projects Totalling $4.0 M

Quebec City (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - (TSXV: HEO) H2O Innovation Inc. (“H2O Innovation” or the “Corporation”) is proud to announce it was awarded four (4) new projects including three (3) municipal projects and one (1) industrial project. These new contracts, worth $4.0 M, will bring the Corporation’s project sales backlog to $51.4 M, and the consolidated sales backlog (including the O&M contracts) to $146.8 M.

First of all, H2O Innovation has been awarded a municipal sewage treatment facility in Ontario utilizing the flexMBRTM technology. From screening to dewatering, the system will treat an average day flow of 0.3 MGD (1,000 m3/day) with peaks up to 1.3 MGD (5,000 m3/day). “The municipal sector is a very competitive environment and in order to provide the town protection for future membrane replacement pricing and take advantage of technology evolution from several vendors, we will implement our flexMBRTM technology. The flexMBRTMfor this facility is designed to allow for membrane interchangeability with at least three (3) suppliers. Our municipal customers truly appreciate our unique open platform design and we are proud to provide them with freedom of choice through the life of their facility”, stated Ryan Waldie, Vice President – Business Development & Strategic Partnerships of H2O Innovation.

The second contract is for a water reuse system for a green building in Austin, Texas. The process will employ membrane bioreactor technology (MBR) as pre-treatment for reverse osmosis (RO). The Corporation’s presence in Texas has been growing steadily since the acquisition of Hays South Utility Corporation last November. The H2O Innovation team will deliver a prefabricated treatment system including a building and process tank to simplify delivery and minimize on-site work. The effluent will primarily be used to provide the building with toilet flushing water at a design capacity of 5,000 GPD (18.9 m3/day) of wastewater.

The third project was awarded by a technology company from the State of Indiana to expand their treatment capacity. H2O Innovation will be adding two RO trains of 0.2 MGD (763 m3/day) each, to produce demineralized water from a brackish feed source. The Corporation will also provide the clean-in-place skid, softeners and filters.

Finally, the last project won by the Corporation is for a municipality located in California. H2O Innovation will provide a 3-train demonstration system using ultrafiltration (UF) and RO technologies to treat water for indirect potable reuse. The system will use FiberFlexTM technology with hollow fiber membranes and is expected to begin the commission phase within the next few months.
