GES Group, of the Granite Hacarmel Group, specializing in treating water and waste-water, has won two tenders published by Teva and Bromine Compounds at Ramat Hovav to construct and operate waste-water treatment facilities. The cost of the projects is approximately NIS 12 million.

GES shall design and construct a biological system based on membranes to purify waste-water from the plants into treated water to be fed into cooling towers instead of drinking water presently used for cooling. The facilities shall be operated by GES maintenance and operation staff on 5-16 year long term contracts.

Menachem Greenblum, GES CEO, said that over the past decade, plants' awareness of environmental issues in general and treatment of waste-water in particular has significantly risen, including the need to prevent water and soil pollution and preserve water reserves.

GES was established in 1987 by merging three leading companies (Italchem Ayalon, Aniam Purification Systems, Chemitaas 1988). The company specializes in design, construction, operation and maintenance of waste and waste-water facilities and systems. It also develops, markets and distributes chemical products for industry and agriculture and to the municipal sector, used for metal finishing and electrochemical coating.
