Expansion Of Water Environment & Reuse Foundation's Intelligent Water Systems Reasearch

The Water Environment & Reuse Foundation (WE&RF) recently partnered with the Smart Water Networks Forum (SWAN). SWAN will also collaborate with LIFT (Leaders Innovation Forum for Technology), a joint WE&RF-Water Environment Federation initiative focused on identifying and evaluating innovative water technologies.

This timely announcement comes after the successful Smart Water: Tapping Technologies for Water Utilities Workshop held on January 25th, which focused on accelerating the development and deployment of data-driven, smart water and wastewater technologies in North America. Jointly hosted by the SWAN North American Alliance and Cleantech in San Diego, the event drew nearly 200 participants discussing the challenges and vast opportunities in the smart water sector.

Commenting on this partnership, SWAN’s Executive Director, Amir Cahn stated, “As the North American water market transitions towards intelligent water systems, we are very excited to partner with WE&RF. WE&RF’s outstanding research expertise will bring invaluable knowledge to SWAN’s membership as we continue to promote critical discussions and cutting-edge research tools needed to advance the water sector.”

“This partnership solidifies our commitment to advancing the role of research in contributing to smart water conversations worldwide” said Walter Graf, WE&RF’s Program Director of Strategic Asset Management & Intelligent Water Systems. “We look forward to collaborating with SWAN’s global community and encourage interested SWAN members to apply to our LIFT Technology Scan program focused on identifying and evaluating innovative water technologies.”
