C-Tech Industries, Inc., announced today that it would discontinue production in its Colorado Springs, CO, facility effective Nov. 1, 2000.
Production will move to C-Tech facilities in Humboldt, IA, and Camas, WA. The Colorado Springs facility employs approximately 65 employees.
C-Tech will give all employees affected hiring priority for new positions in Humboldt and Camas, as well as other open positions throughout C-Tech. Andrew Gale, C-Tech president and CEO, made the announcement to the employees this morning. "Our No. 1 concern is that each of our employees in Colorado Springs secures a good job, preferably with C-Tech," said Gale.
C-Tech is offering all employees a bonus package to stay until at least Oct. 31. C-Tech will provide relocation packages to those employees wishing to transfer to other company locations. For those employees choosing not to stay with the company, C-Tech has hired a nationally known company that provides outplacement training and counseling services.
"The decision to close the Colorado Springs facility was primarily based on excess production capacity within C-Tech's eight manufacturing facilities," said Gale.
He said C-Tech is confident its other facilities will meet the company's production needs. "In spite of strong sales growth, we are realizing productivity improvements that allow us to make better use of our facilities," he said.
C-Tech Industries, Inc., is a major manufacturer of cleaning equipment selling under several brand names, including Hotsy, Landa, Cuda, Tuff, and Spraymart. It has sales revenue of approximately $120 million and 650 employees.
