APTwater, Inc. Holds First Tech Summit In 2010 Series, Showcases Advances In In-Situ AOP Solutions
Pleasant Hill, CA - APTwater, Inc. kicked-off 2010 with the first event in their continuing "Technology Summit" series on January 13th in Irvine, CA. The half-day event was attended by over 35 engineers, geologists and environmental professionals representing 20 firms and agencies in and around southern California. This year's first Tech Summit focused on the design and application of the company's PulseOx® in-situ Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) remediation technologies, followed by an overview of APTwater's HiPOx® ex-situ AOP. An outline of the environmental permitting process for sites using in-situ chemical oxidation was presented by Mr. G. Jeffrey Hu, P.E., of California EPA's State Water Resources Control Board, Los Angeles (RWQCB Region 4).
The biggest news was APTwater's official debut of its PulseOx In-Well Reactor (IWR) technology for soil and groundwater remediation. The company's breakthrough IWR technology allows for existing wells to continuously inject and recirculate ozone, hydrogen peroxide, and/or oxygen-enriched air into the groundwater. Soil and groundwater contaminants are effectively destroyed via powerful hydroxyl radical-based chemical oxidation, which is up to 1-billion times faster than conventional ozone treatment and completely destroys organic contaminants to dissolved CO2 and H2O. By converting existing wells, IWR system installation costs are 20-50% less than at conventional in-situ sites, saving clients substantial time and money.
"Our PulseOx In-Well Reactor is a low-cost, high-impact option for clients faced with difficult gas station and dry cleaner sites, not just in southern California, but across the globe," said Mr. Terry Applebury, APTwater's President and CEO. "By showcasing a new way to speed up site closure, we're providing another treatment option in our clients' tool box."
The Technology Summit closed with a demonstration of the company's products and systems, including the newly updated PulseOx P-500 trailer-mounted system. "The best part was taking our guests to a hands-on show-and-tell of our PulseOx equipment just outside the meeting hall," said Mr. Douglas Gustafson, P.E., Co-Founder & Senior Technical Engineer at APTwater, Inc. "Attendees loved our updated touch-screen operator interface and new remote monitoring features. The new system allows customers an even easier way to set up and monitor their remediation projects from almost any internet connection anywhere in the world. It's just another example of how our PulseOx and HiPOx family of AOP remediation technologies continue to evolve and provide better return on investment for our clients."
At least three more Technology Summits are planned for 2010, including:
- Industrial & Remediation, Houston, TX—March 2010
- Municipal Reuse, Orlando, FL—Summer 2010
- Nutrient Removal and Municipal Reuse, California—Fall 2010
