Green+Green Mobile Organic Biofilm is an environmentally friendly, all-natural, and renewable biofilm process that utilizes mobile settling enhancement media derived from a special lignocellulosic plant fiber to provide ballasted settling for improved clarifier performance.

When clarifiers are not settling like they should, problems arise, including reduced capacities, high sludge volume indexes (SVI) and sludge blanket levels, and infiltration/inflow (I/I) washout issues.

Ballasting chemical additives employed to alleviate these problems can be time-consuming, costly, and potentially hazardous. A new all-natural biofilm process recently introduced by manufacturer Smith & Loveless addresses these clarifier-settling issues in an innovative manner, offering simple implementation and operation and long-term reliability. Water Online discussed how the new system works with Smith & Loveless Vice President Don Aholt.
