Alfa Laval Wins $15M Water Treatment Order In Australia

Alfa Laval has won an order from a leading Australian energy company to supply a unique water-treatment system for cleaning wastewater from natural gas production.

The order, booked in the Energy & Environment segment, is worth approximately SEK 90 million and delivery is scheduled for this year.

Alfa Laval provides specialised products and engineering solutions based on heat transfer, separation and fluid handling.

The unique modular water-treatment system has been designed and pre-engineered by Alfa Laval and includes various compact heat exchangers.

It will be used in a new water-treatment facility to clean wastewater from natural gas production. By using Alfa Laval’s compact and modular plate technology the system will evaporate the wastewater and thereby reduce the amount of waste for disposal.

“This order reflects the increasing demand from the gas industry. It also confirms that our unique modular water-treatment system lives up to the high demands on performance and reliability from the major players in the industry,” says Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group.

Alfa Laval’s products are used in power plants, aboard ships, in the mechanical engineering industry, in the mining industry and for wastewater treatment, as well as for comfort climate and refrigeration applications.
