VTS OPC Server & Client

OPC is an effective way to communicate with remote I/O hardware for which direct device drivers are not available.
Details

VTS has an extensive library of third-party device drivers that allow it to communicate with monitoring and control hardware from a wide variety of manufacturers. For some I/O devices however, a direct driver is simply not available. In these cases, OPC can be an effective alternative.

OPC is a common, high performance, communication protocol that enables the transfer of process data between I/O devices of different manufacturers without the need for custom-written drivers. VTS version 8.1 now includes OPC Server functionality.

The VTS OPC Server allows OPC-compliant programs (including other VTS applications with an OPC clients) to send and receive live process data to and from a standard VTS application.

The VTS OPC Client, a standard feature of VTS for over 5 years, allows a standard VTS application to send and receive live process data to and from an OPC-compliant server (including other VTS applications with configured OPC servers.)

Both are fully integrated components of VTS. The OPC Client is available for no additional cost, while the OPC Server requires an additional license fee.

Both take only seconds to configure.
