New Vice President of Marketing Named for C-Tech Industries

John H. Ruston, a marketing executive for nearly 30 years, has been named Vice President of Marketing for C-Tech Industries, North America's largest manufacturer of power cleaning equipment with headquarters in Camas, Washington.
C-Tech Industries CEO / President Andy Gale made the announcement July 15, 2000.
Ruston, 51, will be responsible for the promotion and strategic marketing of C-Tech Industries' 18 product lines, including Landa and Hotsy pressure washers, Cuda aqueous parts washers, Inline Cleaning Systems conveyor parts washers, Hawk and Admiral pumps, Spraymart parts and accessories for pressure washers, Water Maze wash-water recycling systems, and Water Blaze wastewater treatment systems.
"We are grateful and excited to have someone of John's caliber join the C-Tech team," said Gale. "He brings a wealth of experience in product development that will play a significant role in helping us bring to market the most innovative products in our industry."
Since 1993, Ruston has held a variety of Marketing and Product Management positions with W.W. Grainger, Inc., North America's largest supplier of MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) products. Most recently, Ruston was a director for Grainger's $500 million material handling product category, where he oversaw strong double-digit growth rates and significant profitability improvements.
Prior to joining Grainger, Ruston had served in a number of executive marketing positions for Denham & Co., Seco Industries (now Newell-Rubbermaid), Wetrok Inc., Geerpres, Inc. (for Beatrice Foods) and Crown Industries.
He also owned and operated his own agency, Questec, Inc., a management/marketing consulting firm that specialized in start-up and turn-around business challenges.
In 1970, Ruston earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in business administration from Babson College, Wellesley, Mass. His major was management and marketing.
A native of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, Ruston is married and has five children.
