18-Pulse Clean Power Drive
Schneider Electric's experience and expertise in power distribution and power quality measurement are combined with solid state motor control to produce the Class 8839 Type CPD PowerGard™ clean power drives ranging from 50 to 500HP, 460 VAC. PowerGard drives combine the harmonic mitigation benefits of patented 18-pulse technology with the proven reliability of the ATV61 power controller to form the perfect solution. These clean power (low harmonic content) drives maintain minimal AC line distortion with high true power factor specifically designed to comply with IEEE 519 guidelines at the equipment level. This technology enables PowerGard drives to achieve in excess of 95% cancellation of characteristic harmonic currents.
