The EZNet™ System is a targeted fixed network data collection system designed to automatically collect, store, and manage meter readings from high value commercial and industrial (C&I) accounts and specialty applications.
With the EZNet System, the utility no longer needs to take a one-size-fits-all approach. Now mobile and fixed network systems can be integrated, deploying the best technology for the application - a true hybrid approach.
The System is comprised of two main components: the EZGate™ data collection units and the EZNet host software. The EZGate units obtain meter readings from R900 meter interface units (MIUs) that transmit meter reading data using Neptune's radio frequency (RF) protocol. The EZGate unit receives and stores the data and transmits the information via public communication networks (a cell phone or landline telephone modem). EZGate units operate with either a 110V power supply or solar panel.
The EZNet host software is Windows-based and easy to use. The software receives the data from the EZGate units and deposits the data to the EZNet database. Readings are then transferred to the Equinox™-MR software according to the utility billing schedule and uploaded to the CIS/Billing software. The System can be deployed as a stand-alone system or operated in parallel with Neptune's handheld and/or mobile data collection systems to create a hybrid automated data collection system.
The EZNet software stores meter readings daily with the capability to store up to 96 readings per day per meter. The EZNet software also provides meter reading management reports, usage analysis reports (flow profiling, leak detection), on-demand/off-cycle reads, and system management diagnostics.
