A municipal water utility located in Southern California operates a 2.0 million gallon (MG) water storage reservoir which is located close to the treatment plant and receives water at a typical 2.0 mg/L chloramine residual. The tank is pre-stressed concrete, and approximately 24 feet deep and 120 feet in diameter. Because of its shaded location and concrete design, the tank does not suffer from thermal stratification.
