Hertzeliya wastewater treatment plant (wwtp) was built in the 1970's in order to treat the city's municipal wastewater to a secondary level of 20/30, mg/l, (Biological Oxygen Demand/Total Suspended Solids). This will be achieved by an activated sludge extended aeration processes. The sludge is stabilized aerobically.
