Xylem Showcases New, Innovative Water Technologies At IFAT 2014

Xylem booth will feature live maintenance demonstrations and an interactive wastewater pump cost savings calculator

Xylem, a leading global water technology company focused on addressing the world’s most challenging water issues, will showcase new and innovative water and wastewater solutions at the IFAT trade show in Munich, Germany this week (5-9 May). Xylem’s expertise in water and wastewater; its pumping, treatment, field, online and laboratory capabilities will be demonstrated in Halls A6, booth 439; A5, booth 135/234 and A3, booth 420, during the event.

“The breadth and depth of Xylem’s expertise in water and wastewater solutions and how we can solve complex water challenges sets us apart in the industry, and all of our capabilities will be on display at IFAT,” said André Dhawan, president of Xylem Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA). “We will also unveil some exciting new technologies at the show, including smart additions to our ‘monitoring and control’ portfolio specifically designed for water and wastewater facilities.”

Some of the highlights of Xylem’s presence at the show will include

  • Xylem’s TotalCare service team performing live maintenance demonstrations highlighting how preventative maintenance by skilled technicians significantly improves pump performance, reduces downtime and extends product life (in Hall A6, at Xylem booth 439).
  • An interactive Flygt Experior Life Cycle Cost (LCC) calculator which will allow customers to determine both energy savings and the total life cycle cost of incorporating Xylem’s ground-breaking Flygt Experior solution into their facility. Flygt Experior combines state-of-the-art hydraulics, premium efficiency motors and intelligent controls in a unique concept that delivers up to 50 percent energy savings compared to conventional wastewater pumps.
  • A showcase of Xylem’s high precision electromagnetic flow metre that is extremely accurate, even with slow flows, easy to operate and flexible. Flygt MagFlux EMF 801 is the latest addition to Xylem’s portfolio of monitoring and control (M&C) solutions, which enables operators to gain an accurate understanding of a plant’s wastewater flow. Xylem’s M&C technologies have been designed specifically for water and wastewater facilities and complement the company’s market leading water and wastewater solutions.
  • A display of Flygt MyConnect; a cost-effective controller that functions as a remote terminal unit (RTU) ideally suited to controlling between one and four pumps. The unit can be built into an existing electrical control panel and enables operators to easily monitor operations and control the energy consumption of a water or wastewater facility. Flygt MyConnect Wall controller can be located outdoors and is suitable for monitoring water or wastewater treatment operations which are more usually outdoor facilities. This model also includes a sump cleaning function while a built-in modem makes it a compact unit.
  • The European trade show launch of Xylem’s Flygt Slimline propeller pumps that reduce capital investment and maintenance costs while maximizing a pump stations’ performance and efficiency. All Slimline pumps feature Flygt’s well proven N-technology for superior non-clog performance. Smaller pump discharge column sizes results in a more compact pump station minimizing civil construction costs while delivering sustained high efficiency and reduced energy costs.
  • Xylem’s new Sanitaire Eco-lift Retrievable Grid a new retrievable aeration grid system that delivers superior aeration efficiency in wastewater treatment plants. It features an innovative new design and utilises high efficiency Sanitaire Gold and Silver Series diffusers, reducing both the capital and life cycle costs associated with aeration systems.
  • Sanitaire Oscar, a new process performance optimizer that uses real time controls and data to help significantly reduce the energy consumption of a wastewater treatment facility. When installed as part of an energy efficient treatment system, OSCAR can help to reduce a facility’s energy consumption by up to 65 percent*.
  • Xylem’s WEDECO Duron; an open channel ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system, designed for mid-size to large open channel systems, that delivers clean, safe treated wastewater requiring minimum space and energy.
  • Xylem’s new WTW optical sensors UV 700 IQ SAC and UV 700 IQ NOx which offer a cost effective solution for SAC and NOx measurement. High quality titanium and plastic materials (PEEK) together with the ultrasonic cleaning systems reduces the maintenance to a minimum.
  • A new optical sensor WTW NiCaVis 700 IQ NI, which enables nitrite, nitrate, chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total organic carbon (TOC), dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and spectral absorption coefficient (SAC) to be measured without using any chemicals with one single sensor.
  • The new WTW MIQ/MC3 controller family which delivers the latest standards of communication. One of the outstanding features of these IQ Sensor Net controllers is their extensive capabilities through fieldbus protocols and the remote control of the network.
  • WTW’s new ATEX compliant pH and conductivity sensors SensoLyt and TetraCon, which now offer measurement systems for use in explosive atmospheres.
  • The new WTW MonoLine series of single-parameter handheld instruments for intelligent digital sensors (IDS) which will be launched at the show. Three separate models are available for field and process applications.
  • Xylem’s new WTW ProfiLine series of compact and portable, multi-parameter instruments for precise pH, conductivity and dissolved oxygen (DO) measurement.
  • Xylem’s new ‘mobile lab’ WTW pHotoFlex STD that has been developed to meet the demands of customers working in the field of water monitoring and field analysis, enabling them to ensure their operations are compliant with the EU Water Framework Directive.
