Xylem, a leading global water technology company dedicated to solving the world’s most challenging water issues, has announced that it is expanding its bank of Godwin brand high head dewatering pumps to cater for increased rental demand for these powerful water removal pumps. Xylem made the announcement at the opening day of the Hillhead 2014 trade show at Hillhead Quarry, Buxton, UK. Xylem’s extensive range of Godwin and Flygt brand dewatering pumps will be on display at the show (booth # M9).
Xylem’s rental bank expansion will give customers the option to choose from an additional 20 assets of Godwin dewatering pumps, including the high head Godwin HL series, the Godwin CD and NC (non-clog) series.
Kieran Gagg, newly appointed rental manager for Xylem across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific (APAC) regions, said “We believe the increased demand we are experiencing from the rental market for our high head Godwin pumps is due to customers recognising the value of our rental option. We offer a turn-key service where customers with a quarry, construction site or mine that needs dewatering can rent our equipment in order to get their operations up and running as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. Renting equipment means that there are no storage or maintenance costs for the customer and they can still benefit from Xylem’s expertise in advising them on the most appropriate pump to tackle the water removal challenge.”
Graham Saunders, Xylem’s dewatering director for EMEA said, “Our high head pumps like the Godwin Dri-Prime HL series deliver impressively high heads of up to 193 metres with a single-stage impeller. They are ideal for dewatering large quarries or construction sites. Our rental option means that customers can avail of the high performance these type of pumps deliver without having to make a long-term investment.”
Xylem will also showcase its Flygt BIBO range at Hillhead 2014. Flygt BIBO incorporates several proven design features taken from the original and legendary dewatering pump, as well as innovative enhancements that give the new pumps unmatched wear resistance and uptime capability. Durable and robust, Xylem’s Flygt BIBO series has been specifically designed for the toughest dewatering environments including mining, quarrying, construction and tunnelling.
Saunders said, “The Flygt BIBO dewatering pump is renowned within the industry and set the standard for submersible dewatering when it was first launched in the 1960s. This celebrated design forms the core of this new generation of Flygt BIBO pumps that now includes the most advanced pumping technology, bringing the best in dewatering pump capability to the market.”
Xylem will also demonstrate its market leading Flygt 2600 drainage pump series at the event. Consisting of six drainage and three solids-handling sludge pumps, the Flygt 2600 series is suitable for use in worksites of any size, handling flows from low to medium and high to super high. The pumps are three times more wear-resistant than conventional drainage pumps and can handle flows of up to 100 litres per second, heads to 90 metres and solids of up to 80 millimetres in diameter.
The Flygt 2600 drainage pumps feature Xylem’s patented DuraSpin™ hydraulic system, Hard-Iron™ impeller and Plug-In Cartridge seal. As well as being one of the easiest products to service on the market, fewer components mean less spare parts to store. New enhancements to Xylem’s Flygt 2600 range include increased durability on the seal system, greater protection against corrosion, a simplified design and capability for dry running.
Hillhead 2014 runs from 24th – 26th June 2014.
