Xylem To Participate In Key Water Thought Leader Discussions At Singapore International Water Week 2014

Xylem Inc., a leading global water technology company dedicated to solving the world’s most challenging water issues, announced recently that it will participate in key thought leader events at Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2014, the premier global platform to share and co-create innovative water solutions. Stakeholders from the global water industry gather at the meeting to share business opportunities and showcase the latest water technologies.

“Our Let's Solve Water” tagline is an inspirational call to action for our employees. It's also an invitation to like-minded partners around the world to join us in developing solutions to one of the world's most urgent issues – the need for clean, safe water and sanitation,” said Patrick Decker, president and chief executive officer of Xylem. “We are focused on developing and growing water markets, and we are continuing to expand our presence where demand for water is escalating due to fast-expanding populations. Much of this growth is occurring right here in Asia, which is why we are excited to be here in Singapore to collaborate with other water industry leaders.”

Xylem is a founding partner of SIWW and has participated in the meeting since 2008. This year marks Patrick Decker’s first official visit to the region as Xylem’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Decker will be a panelist at the TechXchange forum which connects innovators with international partners and investors to help accelerate the commercialization of new water technologies. He will also speak at SIWW’s pillar event, the Water Leaders Summit, which brings government, world organizations, and industry leaders together with the common goal of addressing global challenges through policymaking and thought leadership.

“Xylem has a strong presence in Singapore as evidenced by our ongoing partnership with PUB, Singapore’s national water agency on research and development programs, as well as with other local companies in the areas of smart water networks and offshore and marine applications,” said Allan Hendry, Xylem’s regional director for Greater Asia. “Our office in Singapore functions as a local ‘center of excellence’ as we continue to drive growth in the region.”

“Over the years, Singapore has been growing its water industry with research and innovation as the key drivers. Through funding, commercialization programs and test-bedding opportunities, we offer a conducive platform that drives cutting-edge water solutions,” said Chua Soon Guan, PUB’s deputy chief executive of policy and development. “Today Singapore is recognized as a leading global ‘hydrohub’ serving as home to more than 130 water companies and 28 research and development centers.”

The five-day event which takes place from June 1-5 is held at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands Hotel, in conjunction with the World Cities Summit (WCS) and CleanEnviro Summit Singapore (CESS). Xylem’s exhibition space, located within the Sands Expo & Convention Center, will feature Xylem’s “Virtual Resilient City,” as well as selected technology from the company’s portfolio of products and brands. Throughout the week, there will also be product demonstrations and videos showcasing the company’s innovative capabilities.
