WWEMA Honors JWC Environmental As Morriss Award Winner

Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association Chairman Deb LaVelle named JWC Environmental, Costa Mesa, California, as recipient of the 2013 James C. Morriss Member Achievement Award at WWEMA’s 105th Annual Meeting, November 14-16 in Ponte Vedra, Florida.

Typically the Morriss Award is presented to an individual; however, LaVelle elected to recognize the company as a whole for its role in supporting the association and the industry over the past year.

JWC Environmental President Ron Duecker served as chairman of the 2013 WWEMA President’s Council. As chairman, he took the council’s annual one-day meeting to a new level, setting up an online mechanism that allowed members to share and collaborate prior to the meeting, and he generated an extensive post-meeting report that he shared with the entire WWEMA membership during the Annual Meeting.

In addition, JWC Environmental staff initiated and played a key role in the development of an advocacy poster to be used by WWEMA members to promote the value of investing in water infrastructure. Drew Maxie, application programmer at JWC, and Scott Kelly, former vice president of sales for the company and a former WWEMA board member, devoted many hours to crafting the poster’s content and design.

The James C. Morriss Member Achievement Award each year is presented to a WWEMA member for significant contributions to the mission of the association and to the benefit of the water and wastewater industry.
